Don't feel like eating out alone... and really miss Italian food which can always satisfy my tastebuds. :D

I must, I must learn to cook good italian cuisine.

Reason: to have good italian food with low price in singapore, the way is to LEARN how to make it...

Antipasti

What do I mean by a large portion of Antipasti in Italian cuisine in my previous post?

Today I got a chance to show you....

I just had antipasti for my dinner. ONLY antipasti that can make me full.....

I can't continue with primo and secondo anymore...

Here you go:

Smoked salmon and swordfish, octopus

Followed by, fried small fish and squids

Lastly, mussels...

How can my little stomach stuffs other things after having this?

Dim Sum at Old Hong Kong

I would say this is the best dim sum i had in Singapore. Good quality!!

Like the fine dining restaurants at Dempsey. Went there for dinner on Friday night continuously for 2 weeks. A bit costly but I find it worth after a tired and busy week. =)

I found this magazine at home last few weeks, it was printed in June 2001. It teaches many nice italian cuisine which I always wanted to learn.

I really don't mind to eat Italian food everyday... Believe it or not, we only cook pasta at home and never cook chinese food before.

Perhaps, it's easy, less oily and healthy. The taste is just now.

Tried to cook for few friends before and they think that it's ok! Especially chee leong, he really likes the Carbonara that I made!!! hahaha! :)

Since I found the source, I will learn more and try it out every weekend..

my next recipes: Baked Eggplants (Melanzane al Forno)

Ingredients
2 tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and cubed
Salt
2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 fresh chili pepper, seeded and minced
1 tablespoon minced Italian parsley
4 small eggplants


Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°.

Toss the tomatoes with ½ teaspoon salt, the garlic, vinegar, 1 tablespoon olive oil, the chili pepper, and the parsley in a bowl; marinate for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, cut the eggplants in half lengthwise, make small incisions in the flesh, and sprinkle with salt. Brush with the remaining olive oil and place on a baking sheet, cut side down; bake for about 30 minutes, or until soft. (might change to sliced eggplant, faster :P. What do you think?)

Place the eggplants on a serving platter, cut side up, and spoon on the marinated tomatoes. Serve the eggplants at room temperature or cold.

The first dessert I tried in Milan in a traditional restaurant. Ice cream with crunchy peanuts + sugar as topping.

Basic and original pizza with cheese and tomatoes. My favourite among all the rest of the pizza.

Local delicacies -made of sugar that commonly found in Silicy Island. It's tooooooo sweet for me!

Famous pork knuckles with side dishes. Only Euro11! cheap!

German sausages stall

Currywurst - a German National Dish consisting of hot pork sausage (Wurst) cut into slices and seasoned with a ready-made ketchup-based sauce seasoned with curry and other spices.

I love it! If I am not wrong, it was my lunch of the day!! haha!

Dinner!

Yesterday, we didn't want to go out for dinner.

Reasons: crowded outside, expensive due to Vday & I need to study.

So we had done some cookings at home. This is the best steak that we made so far.

I suppose, we bought the correct part of steak and got the right way to cook it (not me). haha

Just simple and yummy! :D

Homemade Breakfast.. Yummy

For the first time I made this kind of breakfast for myself. I found it very delicious!

There are Shaved Ham, Cheddar Cheese, Tomatoes, some salt and olive oil in the Baguette.

This is what I like to eat in the morning. Not "Nasi Lemak", "fried noodles".. hahaa..

Do you wanna give it a try? :D

Groceries for the week

Some groceries we bought from Nanyang Supermarket for the week. I like the mini market very much as it has a lot of imported food. :)

Guo Qiao Mi Xian

Guo Qiao Mi Xian - A kind of Yunnan traditional noodles..

A bowl of super hot chicken soup covers with oil to maintain the heat of the soup.

With many different kind of ingredients adding into the hot soup.. you can have it in few minutes time.



It is not too heavy and just nice...




Cold dish - Kou Shui Ji (slivia chicken)

hahhaa.. why is it called "kou shui"?? hao sui !!

coz it's too spicy until you drool.. hahaa. I like this dish a lot!!

Ermm hmmm... new dishes again?

Tomato, carrot & egg fried noodles?

the taste is comparable with outside hawker stall.. ( no taste).. the vege ( no taste).. the meat coated with egg (too salty)

It's just nice!

Tonight I worked late and on the way back, I thought of the tray of eggs I bought last week. I must try my best to finish all by this week.

So i went to buy a tomato (only SGD0.30). after that i tried my first tomatoes fried eggs. While cooking, the half can of meat that sat in the freezer since last week came across my mind. ermm.. so i just simply fried it again.

for the noodles, it's taiwan "yang chun mian".. and I added some basiliaca pesto on it.

Well, this dishes is quite satisfying. I am still full now!

New Try

Recent Cookings

Today's cooking: ABC soup

Ingredients: Carrots, potatoes, corn, tomatoes, onions, ABC pasta

My lunch and dinner for the day.. Having Gastric for few days and MC to rest at home..



Last week invention: Green Pepper + Tomatoes + Chicken
Nothing special and it was just my first try after having outside food for one week.

Taste: A bit too light, Just enough for my dinner portion.

A Quick Dinner: Ham & Corn La Mian

Normal, very normal.. Just to fill up my stomach.. haha

In this month, I had 2 meals so called "Luxurious" (out of my daily budget for meal) at Din Tang Fung & Crystal Jade.

I went there alone. Though didn't want to do so, but I just can't bear the food out there. I am out of ideas of what to eat in food court and hawker center. The food are awful.. :( Or am having some aneroksia symtom? Or just picky?

Food from Italia

Desmond, my manager is back from Italy and he brought us many nice food.

Chocolates.. haven't try yet but left only few..

Nice Chocolate and Vanilla nuggets with Almond. I like this very much...

Cioccolato with different fillings.. whisky, creamy, mocha. etc etc. Tried one with creamy chocolates filling

Taccali - biscotti made by salt + olive +white vine. It was my breakfast for today :)

Nihon Maru

Today we have Japanese Dinner at Nihon Maru. Well, so that I think this is the best japanese food I ever had in Singapore. Thanks to Daniel!
